Horizontal mixers are better than verticals for several reasons:

• There is much more positive particle movement and therefore faster and more accurate mixing.  Speed of mixing overcomes segregation.
• Easier access to load and clean.  No material lies on the agitator.
• Lower access height.

PHLAUER™ horizontal batch mixers are available in single rotor and double rotor.  Both mix to Cv. 5%.  The single is used one minute in production, and the double 30 seconds.
